Practical information
Dinner will be served at 7 pm on Sunday, September 20.
If you do not intend to take the bus on Sunday, or
do not intend to join us for the dinner on Sunday, or
if you arrive later than 11 pm on Sunday (then you must have an entrance code),
please let us know no later than noon Wednesday, September 16.
Please email Annika Lindblom annika.lindblom@scb.se if any of these situations apply to you.
The course starts on Monday at 10 am.
For those of you who want transportation from Helsingborg railway station to
Rusthållargården, the bus leaves exactly at 5 pm on Sunday, September 20.
More specifically, the bus leaves from "Knutpunkten", stop Number 3
(in close connection to the railway station). It takes about one hour from
Helsingborg to Arild by bus. There is still room in the bus, so even if you
have not told us you can just show up. At least two members of the organising
committee will meet you at the bus stop in Helsingborg. If something unexpectedly
happens, such as delays, please contact Eva Dahlqvist Prince (+46-705-565979) or
Annika Lindblom (+46-73-9808981) to get instructions on how to get to Rusthållargården.
An excursion will be organised on Tuesday afternoon, which will include a walk.
Robust shoes are therefore recommended. Rusthållargården is situated near the sea
(a bay called Skälderviken) so you can bring your swim suit if you like. The temperature
in Skälderviken is currently about 18 degrees Celsius.
Objectives
Reliable measurement is essential in surveys.
This course covers some important aspects of measurement:
reducing measurement error through good design, both in traditional surveys and in
web surveys, and analysing measurement error with latent class models and longitudinal
models. The course will give you insight into both theoretical and practical issues.
The target audience is primarily doctoral students, but the course will also be suitable
for master students and people who work with surveys.
